Radiotelephony call signs for aircraft

To avoid confusion, all aircraft stations own a call sign. This call sign is used for communication with the ATS units. The call sign should be unique and shall not be changed during the flight except for safety reasons or if it considered necessary for some reason. Abbreviated radiotelephony call signs shall be used only after satisfactory communication has been established and provided that no confusion is likely to arise. An aircraft shall use its abbreviated call sign only after it has been addressed in this manner by the aeronautical station.
