Refer to E(LO)2 chart from Jeppesen GSPRM 2017.
A helicopter flies from an off-shore oil rig to the De Kooy (EHKD) airport (N52°55'24'', E004°46'50'') in a degrading weather condition. On which frequency should the Pilot monitor to get informed for the areas weather conditions?
Refer to figure.
The Pilot should monitor on the charts VOLMET VHF frequency (AMSTERDAM WX): 126.200 MHz.
VOLMET provides meteorological information for aircraft in-flight. Provision, as appropriate, of current METAR, SPECI, TAF and SIGMET by means of continuous and repetitive voice broadcasts. VOLMET is available on VHF and HF frequencies, where VHF-VOLMET covers regional areas and HF- VOLMET covers international areas. As the VHF radio only provides a local service, long haul flights use HF.
