A new 78 kg piece of equipment has been mounted on the exterior of the aircraft at station 970. Determine the moment created by this modification.

A moment is defined as the product of a mass and its balance arm (distance from a reference point).
- Moment = Mass × Balance Arm
The mass is located at a station number of 970. According to the annex when a Body Station is between 747 to 1217, the Body Station is converted into a Balance Arm by adding 148 in. The Balance Arm of the new equipment will be:
- Balance Arm = 970 in + 148 in = 1118 in
The moment of the new equipment will be:
- Moment = 78 kg x 1118 in = 87 204 kg in
