Refer to figure or CAP696 Figure 4.9.
For the forward cargo compartment (Cargo Hold 1), area between balance arms (BA) 286 in and 343 in, determine the (1) maximum running load, (2) maximum distribution load intensity and (3) the maximum load:

  • A

    (1) 13.15 kg/in, (2) 68 kg/ft2, (3) 762 kg

  • B

    (1) 8.47 kg/in, (2) 68 kg/ft2, (3) 483 kg

  • C

    (1) 7.18 kg/in, (2) 68 kg/ft2, (3) 414 kg

  • D
    (1) 13.12 kg/in, (2) 68 kg/ft2, (3) 2 059 kg

Refer to figure.
To answer this question, find the forward cargo hold on the annex (the upper table).

The complete forward hold runs from 228 inches to 500 inches and is separated into 3 smaller parts.

The hold between 286 to 343 inches is the central section of this hold, and is shown in red on the attached figure. From here we can read the various limits:

  • Maximum Compartment Running Load (kg per inch): 8.47
  • Maximum Distribution Load Intensity (kg per square foot): 68
  • Maximum Compartment Load (kg): 483
