An ATIS message containing departure and arrival information will include cloud cover information when the cloud is
  • A
    above 6000 ft but below the highest minimum sector altitude.
  • B
    above 5000 ft but below the highest minimum sector altitude.
  • C
    below 5000 ft or below the highest minimum sector altitude, whichever is higher.
  • D
    below 3000 ft or below the highest minimum sector altitude, whichever is higher.

4.3.7 ATIS for arriving and departing aircraft

ATIS messages containing both arrival and departure information shall contain the following elements of information in the order listed: (...)

*o) cloud below 1 500 m (5 000 ft) or below the highest minimum sector altitude, whichever is greater; cumulonimbus; if the sky is obscured, vertical visibility when available; (...)

* These elements are replaced by the term “CAVOK, whenever the conditions as specified in the PANS-ATM (Doc 4444), Chapter 11 prevail.
