Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP)

AIP, the first element of Aeronautical Information Service is, by definition, a publication of aeronautical information of a lasting character essential to air navigation issued by or with the authority of a State to satisfy international requirements and containing. In simple words, information that can be found in an AIP shall be either permanent information and/or long duration temporary changes.

  • AIP Amendments. Permanent changes to the AIP shall be published as AIP Amendments.
  • AIP Supplements. Temporary changes of long duration (three months or longer) and information of short duration which contains extensive text and/or graphics shall be published as AIP Supplements.

NOTAM. A notice distributed by means of telecommunication containing information concerning the establishment, condition or change in any aeronautical facility, service, procedure or hazard, the timely knowledge of which is essential to personnel concerned with flight operations.
