The registration of an aircraft is D-EENE. The call sign of the aircraft in flight is D-EENE (same as the registration). A SELCAL check has already been performed. According to ICAO Annex 10 (Volume II), when the ATSU initiates a SELCAL transmission, the pilot should reply…
SELCAL is a system used by air traffic control to selectively call individual aircraft over RT channels, which means that the flight crew doesn't have to monitor the channel continuously, especially on long-haul flights. So, we can actually say that it may be used by the controller to start a conversation.
ICAO Annex 10 (Volume II)
5.2.4 SELCAL procedures.
5.2.4.4 ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS
5.2.4.4.1 PANS.— When an aeronautical station initiates a call by SELCAL, the aircraft replies with its radio call sign, followed by the phrase “GO AHEAD”.
The call sign of the aircraft is D-EENE, so the response will be "D-EENE, go ahead."
