A
A given rate of change of trajectory is maintained to achieve a new parameter without undershooting.
-
B
A new trajectory is obtained via a change in attitude to achieve a desired parameter.
-
C
The autopilot obtains a trajectory through the third channel in case of failure.
-
D
The autopilot maintains the set parameter without any change.
When a mode is engaged, the following sequence of events applies:
Initial phase
- In this phase, the attitude is changed to obtain a new trajectory in order to achieve the new parameter. The trajectory will be based on rate of closure which is again based on the difference between the original parameter and the new parameter.
- The aircraft will follow a predefined rate of change of trajectory to achieve the new parameter without overshooting/undershooting.
- The aircraft will maintain the set parameter until a new change has been initiated.
