Runway visual range (RVR). The range over which the pilot of an aircraft on the centre line of a runway can see the runway surface markings or the lights delineating the runway or identifying its centre line.

4.3.6.5 Recommendation.- In METAR and SPECI:

a) only the value representative of the touchdown zone should be reported and no indication of location on the runway should be included;
