This provides the necessary detail for air traffic services (ATS) to process the flight plan, as ZZZZ is the standard indicator for unspecified or non-ICAO aerodromes.

Item 13: Departure Aerodrome

  1. If an ICAO location indicator is assigned: Use the four-letter indicator.
  2. If no ICAO indicator is assigned: Insert ZZZZ.

  1. Specify the departure aerodrome name and location:

    Follow ZZZZ in Item 13, enter DEP/ followed by the name and location of the aerodrome.

  2. Include coordinates:
