3 / 20

What is the remaining fuel at the destination, based on the provided conditions that remain constant during the flight?

Take-off fuel: 180 kg including reserve fuel (30% of take off fuel).
Remaining fuel at the half of the distance: 100 kg.

  • A

    80 kg

  • B

    40 kg

  • C

    10 kg

  • D

    20 kg

Refer to figure.
After half of the distance the remaining fuel is 100 kg. This means that the fuel that has been consumed is:

  • 180 kg - 100 kg = 80 kg

The aircraft has to cover the whole distance, which means that it will consume double of the fuel that has been consumed up to this point. The total fuel that will be consumed until the destination will be:

  • 80 kg x 2 = 160 kg

The total take-off fuel is 180 kg and the fuel consumed until the destination is 160 kg. This means that the fuel remaining at the destination will be:

  • 180 kg - 160 kg = 20 kg
