What type of lens is used for myopia or short-sightedness?
MYOPIA
Myopia is also called short sightedness. It occurs when the human eye is longer than normal and the image is focused in front of the retina. The result is that close objects are seen clearly, but distant objects appear blurry. A concave (diverging) lens spreads the light rays so they focus correctly on the retina.
concave lens → myopia or short-sightedness
convex lens → hypermetropia or long-sightedness
bifocal lens → presbyopia
