4.2.8 Glider flights in operation

A double white cross displayed horizontally (Figure A1-11) in the signal area indicates that the aerodrome is being used by gliders and that glider flights are being performed.

The signal area at an aerodrome refers to a designated area on the aerodrome where visual ground signals are displayed to provide information to pilots flying, especially when radio communication is unavailable or limited.
